Workplace Communication: Oct 4 & 9, TH/T 1-4 p.m. (6 hrs); $150
In this two-session workshop, participants will examine recommended practices to be a good communicator, discuss the consequences of counterproductive practices, develop some key ideas about effective communication to take back to the workplace, and gain strategies for communication in difficult situations. Participants will also examine the art of asking questions to promote successful conversations, gain strategies for powerful, active listening to make conversations meaningful for everyone involved, review the benefits of paraphrasing and summarizing to ensure that everyone walks away with the same understanding, and learn ways of dealing with aggressive communicators.
