The St. Johnsbury Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) presents: "VERMONT WILD EDIBLES & HERBS USEFUL FOR EVERY HOUSEHOLD" on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Catamounts Arts, Eastern Avenue St. Johnsbury.

Vermont is flourishing with an abundant amount of wild edible plants for nutrition, health, and vitality. Learn of some of Vermont's wild thriving foods, and what our ancestors ate and foraged for. Flower Toomey Ph.D., is the presenter. She is a Holistic Practitioner, Nutritionist Medicine Woman, and the owner of Mother Nature's Mountain.

Flower Toomey was born and raised in an Abenaki Native American Environment. Her great-grandmother taught her about plants, herbs and edible foods in the wild when she was young. Flower went on to continue her knowledge of herbal medicine through teachings of other great herbalists, and also pursued a degree in Holistic and Botanical Medicine with a Ph.D. in Botanical Science. Flower has practiced in the NEK for over 25 years as an herbalist and healer. Her passion is foraging for medicinal and wild edibles, speaking, and teaching about protecting endangered species.

Membership is $30. This entitles subscribers to save $18, attend all Fall 2018 sessions, bring a guest to one session, and free attendance at 7 other OLLIs throughout VT.
