Please Come!
In celebration of its fortieth anniversary year, Montpelier's Onion River Chorus invites you to join us for a Gala concert, reception and silent auction on Saturday September 29 at 7:30 pm at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, 130 Main Street. Admission at the door is $40, and all proceeds will go to supporting the chorus's two ambitious 40th Anniversary programs with full orchestra. Tickets are also available prior to the concert from Onion River Chorus singers, at Bagitos in Montpelier or by calling 802-552-0105. The Gala concert features vocal soloists and instrumentalists who have joined the Onion River Chorus in many of our concerts. Highlights of the program include solos and duets by Monteverdi, sung by Sophie Michaux and Lindsey Warren, and Monteverdi's dramatic "Altri Canti di Marte", in which Sophie and Lindsey will be joined by Carolyn Dickinson, Adam Jacob Simon, Wheaton Squire and Larry Gordon and accompanying instruments. There will also be Baroque works by Telemann and Boismortier performed by the Cameo Baroque ensemble, Corsican and South African songs performed by the Northern Harmony nonet, and two Monteverdi madrigals performed by members of the Onion River Chorus led by Sophie. The event also features delicious food for all and a silent auction of many remarkable and irresistible items.
