Prevent Type 2 Diabetes Program

Free Diabetes Prevention Program held at Porter Medical Center beginning Tuesday, September 25 at 4:30. This program meets for 20-24 weeks and is designed to help people who are deemed at-risk for type 2 diabetes. Potential candidates are those considered pre-diabetic based on elevated results in glucose tolerance test or A1C, or previous diagnosis of gestational diabetes. In addition, persons considered at-risk may also qualify to participate. Some of the risks for diabetes include; overweight, inactivity and family history of Type 2 diabetes.
