Illuminating Basic Goodness: Who Am I? Exploring Identity and Belonging

Join us at the Montpelier Shambhala Center for this 5-part course starting September 27th.

This first course in the Basic Goodness Series focuses on our understanding of "self." With gentleness and curiosity, we will explore our personal and culturally assumed views that shape who we think we are. By taking a fresh look at our habitual patterns, emotions, opinions and concepts, we will create an opportunity to contact our inherent basic goodness. This course of practice and study will include teachings on basic goodness, selflessness, the arising of ego and the five skandhas, cocoon, buddha nature, and unconditional confidence. We will practice contemplative investigations of the self based upon the classic Buddhist teachings of the four Foundations of Mindfulness.

Also takes place on October 4, 18 & November 3
