East Montpelier Grace Farm Campus, 2290 VT Route 14 North
All are invited to join us at Michaelmas, our annual celebration of autumn--the bounty of the harvest, the growing darkness, the courage to "slay our inner dragons" as we prepare for the winter ahead. Pageant, fall crafts, a fall feast made by the grades classes, and more!
Michaelmas is an ancient festival that dates back to the sixth century and coincides with the autumnal equinox. Legends describe St. Michael facing and taming a dragon. It is a festival that celebrates deeds of strength and courage, of facing "dragons" both external and internal. Waldorf schools celebrate Michaelmas as a harvest festival; a time of celebration, a time of seeking balance within oneself, between light and darkness, and a time to embrace the challenges which we meet in life.
