Some cleaning products and self-care products people use every day are toxic to our environment and ourselves. Children are more sensitive than adults because they are still developing and vulnerable. How do we know that what we are using to clean is safe without having a degree in chemistry?
We'll talk about indoor air quality, what affects it and the potential impact on health of children and caregivers. We'll discuss ingredients, easy ways to identify safer products to purchase, keep costs reasonable and answer your questions. We'll look at labels that indicate safer products and recipes for safer cleaners that you can make affordably and use at home. Before going home, participants will receive some body care product and cleaning product samples with safer ingredients, information to take home providing practical resources to learn more and check on the safety of products find reliable recommendations for safer products.
Childcare providers will receive certificates for core knowledge of health, safety and nutrition; and core competencies of healthy environments, health needs and safe environment from Northern Lights.
