Royall Tyler: Early Brattleboro Author, Jurist and Wit
Thursday September 13 Roundtable Discussion, 7pm at Brooks Library

The September Roundtable's special guest will be the leading Tyler scholar, Marius B. Péladeau, who was born in Brattleboro and now lives in Maine. Péladeau researched and published the definitive books of both the verse and the prose of Royall Tyler. Don McLean and Christina Gibbons -- who will speak on Mary Palmer Tyler, Royall's wife — will join the discussion with panel moderator Tom Ragle. True As Steel, Don McLean's play about the Tylers created entirely from their own writings, kicks off this year's Brattleboro Literary Festival in October, and an exhibit will be mounted at Brooks Memorial Library, just a few blocks from where the writer made his final Vermont home in the early 1800s.
