Cold Hollow to Canada's Annual Gathering

Past event
Oct 4, 2018, 6 to 9 PM

Please join us on Thursday, October 4th at 6 pm at the Grange Hall in Montgomery Center for Cold Hollow to Canada's Annual Gathering!

Enjoy dinner together as we celebrate our accomplishments this year and hear from conservation leader Tom Butler, from the Foundation for Deep Ecology. Cold Hollow to Canada is a partnership of community members working together toward the common goal of land stewardship and wildlife habitat conservation in the Northern Green Mountains.

Tom Butler is Vice President of Conservation Advocacy at the Foundation for Deep Ecology. He is a longtime conservation activist and writer who has concentrated primarily on wilderness and biodiversity. He is the former longtime editor of Wild Earth journal. His books include Wildlands Philanthropy, Plundering Appalachia, Keeping the Wild: Against the Domestication of Earth, and ENERGY: Overdevelopment and the Delusion of Endless Growth. Tom was a founding board member, former president, and is a current member of the board of directors of Northeast Wilderness Trust.

Tom lives in the foothills of the Green Mountains in Huntington, Vermont with his wife. They both enjoy spending time exploring the land right outside their door and getting to know their wild neighbors including moose and black bears, fishers and coyotes who they value as much as their human neighbors.

Additionally, the Montgomery Center for the Arts will have a special preview of CHC founder Nancy Patch's art collection from 3 - 6 pm. This three-decade art collection of 160 pieces will be on display and for sale throughout the month of October. A portion of the sales will be donated to Cold Hollow to Canada.

Please let us know you're coming by RSVPing at www.coldhollowtocanada.org!

The suggested donation for this event is only $15 per person, of course, if you'd like to contribute more you're welcome to! Your donation will help to cover the cost of the evening and anything beyond that will go to support our programs and projects. Donations will be collected the night of the event. Thank you in advance for supporting our work in the Cold Hollow Mountains!
