Nature Photography Workshop with Fish & Wildlife Photographer
[Preregistration required; details at end of message]

WHEN: Tuesday, September 11 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
WHERE: On the Trail Around Middlebury, meeting at the Aurora Learning Center

WHAT: Middlebury Area Land Trust (MALT) hosts Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department photographer Tom Rogers for a workshop on wildlife and nature photography. The workshop is geared for beginners who want nature photography basics and for intermediates who want to take their skills to the next level. The workshop will begin with a brief presentation on basics of proper exposure, depth of field, and use of camera equipment, followed by a field session on the Trail Around Middlebury.

Tom Rogers is a trained wildlife biologist and photographer and has photographed in 29 countries. "This workshop offers a chance to learn how to frame and capture wildlife through the lens of a camera," said Rogers. "From a songbird surrounded by spring blossoms to a winding mountain stream, we'll review the basics to taking beautiful wildlife and outdoor images."

"Wildlife and nature photography can present some of the most challenging conditions for a photographer, between difficult weather conditions and wildlife that never holds still," said Rogers. "But with an understanding of a few basic techniques, along with some patience and luck, the results can be stunning."

BRING: Camera equipment, including tripod and binoculars if you own them. Pack your own dinner and mess kit, dessert provided!

FEE: $20 for MALT members; $25 for non-members; proceeds support VT Habitat Stamp & MALT. Register here.

REGISTRATION: There are limited spaces in this hands-on workshop, pre-registration is required: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nature-photography-workshop-tickets-48619017791
