Ripton Historical Society will have a presentation at Ripton Community Church on Saturday, September 15th starting at 10:00 am. This slide show presentation will briefly describe Ripton's early history, the locations of sawmills in Ripton village, the sites of Ripton's two taverns and the short-lived Civilian Conservation Corp's Camp Ripton. Chuck Hermann will have a display of his butter churns and butter tubs, means of harvesting hemlock bark, traditional logging and logging tools, and other artifacts. After the presentation those who are interested may visit the locations of the former mills, taverns and CCC camp.
