Come to 4H's Science Cafe! This cafe will be exploring the science of stress, learn about how psychologists study stress and current research on the intersection between behavior, stress and the autonomic nervous system (heart rate, blood pressure), HPA-axis (cortisol), and some epigenetic indicators of physical health. In layman's terms—what happens to your body when you are stressed out! And, you will get to participate in some fun, hands-on activities to learn stress regulation strategies! The cafe will take place on the 22nd of September from 5 pm to 7 pm. Open to grades 7-12. The cafe will be held at the University of Vermont, Davis Center, in the Mansfield Dining room. There will be FREE pizza and drinks. New this year A follow-up workshop on October 3 from 6:00—7:00 pm and again from 7:15—8:15 pm will take place in the UVM Social Development Lab to explore the tools used in their research. This will be available only to students who attend this café. Each session will only accept 6 students. Registration will open after the café.
