HIDDEN ITALY: TRAVELS IN PUGLIA, SO. ITALY and SICILY
On Wednesday, September 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Senior Center ~
Visit 'hidden Italy' through the eyes of Louis G. Giancola, an Italian American who has been traveling there since 1968. In his travelogue, Louis will show you the Greek ruins in Agrigento, the seacoast beauty and Greek theater in Taormina, views of Mt. Etna, Alberobello with its iconic UNESCO ''trulli" homes, Lecce with its Baroque architecture, the Adriatic region of Southern Italy, and more. He will also teach you some useful Italian travel phrases for your next trip to Italy. No reservations are needed for the talk, and there is no fee.
Louis is a retired educator who, together with his sister, has created a small group travel business and often travels to Italy; their company is called "Travel with Angela and Louis."
And, since Wednesdays are senior luncheons, consider signing up for the 12:00 meal – which just happens to be Three-Cheese Pizza, Tossed Salad, Birthday Cake and Ice Cream. Suggested donation is $5. Reservations are required for the meal. Call 425-6345, or stop by to sign up.
NOTE: Now that summer is nearly over (and everyone's family and friends have left), the Charlotte Senior Center is resuming our Wednesday afternoon presentations and events. See the Fall Schedule for a full listing at CharlotteVT.org under the Senior Center tab. Our mission is to serve seniors 50+.
