On Friday, September 7th, Castleton Elementary School kicks off a year celebrating reading, writing and literacy. CES is one of five statewide winners of a Year of the Book grant valued at $25,000 from the Children's Literacy Foundation (CLiF). Duncan McDougall, CLiF's Executive Director, will be there to help CES launch the grant with a kickoff celebration, including a storytelling presentation and book giveaway. Scheduled times for grades are as follows:

Grades 4 and 5 - 9:40 to 10:40 a.m.

Pre-school - 10:45 to 11:15 a.m.

Grades K, 1, 2 and 3 - 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Parents and community members are warmly invited to attend.
