The Bridgewater Historical Society will host Leslie Askwith on Sunday September 9th at 2:00 pm. She will be discussing her book "Thunder-Struck Fiddle, The Remarkable True Story of Charles Morris Cobb and His Hill Farm Community in 1850s Vermont. Charles Morris Cobb was 14 in 1850 when he began writing detailed journals about his life and those of his neighbors in an impoverished hill farm community north of West Woodstock he called Rum Street. The Bridgewater Historical Society is located on 12 North Bridgewater Road, Bridgewater VT 05034. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
