The second meeting of THE UKULELE CLUB OF RUTLAND COUNTY will be held in the Wellness Center behind the Castleton Community Center on route 4A on Thursday, September 6 and every 1st and 3rd Thursday thereafter. A beginners session will be from 6:30 to 7:30 while the more advanced group will meet from 7:00 to 9:00. Gus Bloch, former director of the Rutland City Band and ukulele instructor will lead workshops for both groups. The meeting is free and open to all fans of the ukulele from ages 18 to 108--anyone who wants to learn or already plays the ukulele, known today as "The Happiest Instrument in the World". Donations are welcome.
Songs for this second session will be provided for Beginners and the advanced group will choose songs from "The Daily Ukulele", the "bible" used by Ukulele Clubs all over the country. It can be purchased on-line or in music stores. Attendees are encourage to bring a music stand and are welcome to perform a song of their own choosing as well.
