Join us for an especially exciting dance on Saturday evening, Sept. 1. There will be calling by Nils Fredland, and live music with the Clayfoot Strutters! Starting with a newcomers' instruction session about 7:35, there will be dancing from 8:00 to 11:00. Nils is a great teacher, and always makes sure that everyone has a good time. The Clayfoot Strutters is a Vermont-based band which has played "fusion" contradance music for a couple of decades, bringing together traditional, jazz, afro, latin and other influences to create an exciting mix that is always fun for dancers. The Strutters include Pete Sutherland, Jeremiah McLane, Lee Blackwell and other great musicians--not to be missed!
Admission is $5/$10/$15 each, as usual--but this will also mark the culmination of the fundraising campaign for the "Friends of the Capital City Grange Hall", asking for donations to support more improvements to the Hall. Along with special decorations and a tote board, there will be a sweet and/or savory "dessert potluck" to share at the approx. 9:30 rest break in the dancing, plus beautiful houseplants raised especially for this fundraiser, available for donations--with care instructions, already potted!
Beginners, singles and couples always welcomed. Please bring a pair of clean, soft-soled shoes to protect our dance floor. Presented by the Contradance Umbrella. Call (802)-249-7454 for more information. Fun for everyone, on the first, third and fifth Saturday of every month!
