Advanced Directives for Healthcare Workshop: Wed, Sept 12, 1:00-3:00, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bennington, 108 School Street. Presented by Merry Postemski of Disability Rights VT in conjunction with VCIL. Learn how you can have a voice in medical decisions when you can't express yourself. We will be learning about how to inform your healthcare workers and family about what services you would like to receive or not receive in the event that you're unconscious, incapacitated or in mental health crisis. We begin the process of writing the directives and receive resources for completing them. These workshops are designed to honor people with disabilities. Participation is also open to their care givers and allies. Events are free, but registration is required to ensure enough materials and seating. These are scent- and chemical-free events. Please let us know if you would like an ASL interpreter by 9/6/18. To register, for more information, or to request accommodations, contact: Lynn Mazza, 802-442-1876, lmazza@vcil.org
