Join me at the Old Labor Hall in Barre at 7 pm on Labor Day (9/3) for "Solidarity Forever–Songs of Unions and Labor," a survey of American labor songs from the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution, through the Bread & Roses strike, and into the coal wars of the 1930s with slides and live and recorded music. And, from 2:30 to 5:30 there's the soft-opening of the resurrected Rise Up Bakery behind the Old Labor Hall with family craft activities, a cranky show, snacks, and readings from Katherine Paterson's "Bread & Roses, Too." It's all free! For more information – http://oldlaborhall.org/ , email info@oldlaborhall.org, or call (802) 479-5600. The Labor Hall is at 46 Granite Street, Barre.
