Join Battenkill Books for a book talk and signing with local author and CCS alumnus Gerry Preece, as he discusses his new book, Special Since '92: The Story of Cambridge Football.
Over the last 26 years, Cambridge Central School's football team has won four state championships and played in three more. They have been the Northeast New York Regional Champs fourteen times, have been Sectional Champs sixteen times, and have earned Divisional and/or League Championships 21 times. Cambridge boasts one of the most consistent and prolific high school football offenses in America. Cambridge has ranked in New York State's top 10 teams for their respective class in 20 of the last 26 years. Over these 26 years, the team's average score vs. opponent's is 36-11. Cambridge's win rate is 86%. The reasons why are rooted in history, and they can be found inside this book.
Gerry Preece graduated from Cambridge in 1974, and he played football for the CCS Indians. That experience created a hunger in him to learn why Cambridge football of today is so successful. His quest for answers culminates with this book.
The author's proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the CCS Tribesmen Booster Club, which supports all CCS sports.
