"The Nether" at Waterbury Festival Playhouse

Past event
Aug 23, 7:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Aug 25, 2018

Winner of the most prestigious award for women playwrights (Susan Smith Blackburn in 2015), THE NETHER is a thought provoking, lean and daring play now featured at the Waterbury Festival Playhouse. Similar to television favorites Westworld and Black Mirror, The Nether examines a not so distant future dominated by the seductiveness of technology, a sci-fi thriller that explores the dark side of the web. Ben Brantley of NYT writes that The Nether "exerts a viselike grip, while taking you down avenues of thought you have not yet traveled."

Directed by the Artistic Director of Middlebury Actors Workshop, Melissa Lourie, with an outstanding cast including Sarah Venooker, Adam Cunningham, Hugh Davies, Orlando Grant and Jordan Verasamy. You'll be talking about it long after the curtain has come down.

The show is on its last weekend, Thursday through Saturday, with curtain up at 7:30 PM. THE NETHER is performed in one act with an approximate run time of 80 minutes. There are half price tickets for first time attendees to the Playhouse(to get this and other discounts you must BUY IN ADVANCE).

Students under high school age will not be admitted.
