All week, as part of the Island Arts Festival, pianist Yang Bao and colleagues, Whitney Schmanski and Kenneth Renshaw , have been conducting music and dance classes for Island youth and adults. They are a part of Tone Studios, "an exploration of Being through Sound, Sight and Movement." The Island Arts Festival will conclude on Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. with a gala ceremony, free for all to enjoy with lively performances by the three instructors and enthusiastic students. This a first of its kind for the Champlain Islands and adults and parents are encouraged to bring all children to let them see what opportunities are available as they explore the creative world around them. Homemade oven baked pizza will be available for purchase from 5-7 p.m. and all youth, age 12 and under, are welcome to enjoy a free slice of pizza. Donations to help support the Island Arts Youth Scholarship program are encouraged.
