Scrag Mountain Music Artistic Directors Evan Premo and Mary Bonhag, who live in Warren, are two of the nicest, most talented, and most imaginative musicians you'll ever have the pleasure of knowing, Evan (double bass) and Mary (soprano) put on concerts that are innovative, interactive, and affordable. Their upcoming program on Valentines Day weekend (the Montpelier concert is on Sunday evening at 7 pm at Lost Nation Theater) features two works by Scrag Mountain Music’s composer-in-residence Lembit Beecher: his "Small Suite" for clarinet, viola, and double bass as well as his "Songs of Remembered Love" which includes the recorded voice of his Estonian grandmother. Also on the program will be NYC composer Judd Greenstein's toe-tapping "Summer Dances." Nathan will perform Vermont native Nicco Muhly's mesmerizing Etudes for Viola and Tape, and bassonist Brad Balliet will rap entire book of Jonah in less than 10 minutes accompanied by double bass and viola.
