Come on out and enjoy the waning evenings of summer out at The Barrage for an intimate evening with roots folk and country music. With independent artists spanning America from the west coast of the Pacific Northwest to the west coast of New England, the evenings music is gonna be sweet.
Lindsay Clark - Finding balance between traditional folk, English folk, country, and her own version of experimental folk that seems to stem from her soul. Exquisite and pitch perfect, her music speaks with influences ranging from the Elizabeth Cotton, Joni Mitchell, Appalachian folk, classical music, and her father's record collection. With her well crafted skills she blends many worlds into a uniquely warm sound. Her sound has been described as 'folk with angelic vocals washing over smooth edges' (1859 Magazine). Her forthcoming record "Crystalline" was engineered/co-produced this year with San Francisco's Jeremy Harris, with plans to be released in mid- 2018.
Eastern Mountain Time - with the 2017 release of their first LP Mountain Country, EMT quickly set themselves from the rest of the Burlington music scene with their unique take on americana country music. Seven Days' Dan Bolles praised the record, writing "This is shuffling, 1970s-style country music as much by way or urban poet Charles Bukowski as Gram Parsons. As a result, the album has an edge that saves it from sad-sack navel-gazing" and "Altogether, Mountain Country could serve as either the soundtrack to wasted nights or the odd clarity of the hangover that sometimes follows them." Now with their latest single, "Darker Now", they develop some fresh fuzz on their solid country sound.
