Community Ice Cream Social at Norwich University

Dear Northfield Neighbors,

Here at Norwich, we hope your summer has been as lovely as the clear blue skies and warm breezes that welcome us most days during this season in beautiful central Vermont. We feel humble gratitude for all the natural beauty and resources that surround us. This summer, our campus has been teeming with camps – Future Leader Camp, GenCyber, Governor's Institutes on Engineering and on Design Build, Elite Hockey, Basketball – as well as to undergraduate students conducting research and taking courses – perhaps most visibly – to construction of Mack Hall and renovations to Dewey and Webb Halls.

We have been neighbors for a long time – since 1866, in fact! We're practically family. And as in any relationship, and most especially with family, it is easy to take each other for granted. As we prepare to celebrate 200 years of Norwich University, we want to be sure that we do not take you – our Northfield neighbors – for granted. That is why we are holding a special event just for you.

Speaking of that construction: Mack Hall, our newest academic building will be ready for classes in a matter of days! So, we would love it if you would come over to campus on Monday, August 27, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to see what it's all about. We'll be serving ice cream from 4:30-5:30 p.m. We'll have tours of the new building for anyone wanting to see its' new classrooms, cyber security operations center, and case study rooms. And from 5:45-6:15 p.m., we'll welcome everyone into our new 400-seat auditorium/performing arts center to hear from university leaders about bicentennial celebrations, campus updates, and NU students and faculty in the community. We will also have information tables and campus staff on hand to answer questions in the Mack Hall lobby and to guide tours of campus. Please join us so you can hear firsthand about all we have here at Norwich to offer you as a member of our 'family'.
