Join the South Burlington Natural Resource Committee on August 16th, from 6-8pm in City Hall, to learn about our local pollinators and what you can do to help them. Jane Sorensen will lead a presentation and Q&A on the topic. Jane and her husband Dave Merchant, own and operate River Berry Farm, an organic farm in Fairfax, VT where they grow a diverse array of vegetables and bedding plants. Jane has done research on what horticultural plants hold the most value for pollinators, and has extensive knowledge on how you can make your landscape more pollinator friendly. Jane is also a lecturer at the University of Vermont in Plant and Soil Science. Lisa Yankowski, an NRC member who works at Gardener's Supply Co. will also be on hand with some fun insects and seeds.
