Planet Zydeco House Concert Saturday in Middlesex!

Past event
Aug 18, 2018, 6 PM

This will be our only house concert this year, so don't miss it!

PLANET ZYDECO is an exciting New England–based zydeco band that captures the essence of traditional rural-style accordion-driven dance music as it is played in clubs and dance halls in southwest Louisiana. Band members hail from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, and all have played in a variety of Zydeco, Cajun, R&B, blues, swing, and folk bands down through the years. The Planet's funky syncopated sound includes Peter Pettengill and Nick Keil on twin guitars and vocals, Alan Bradbury on bass and vocals, Cannon Labrie on accordion and vocals, Suzanne Wozniak on rubboard, and Jack Ezikovich on drums. The band plays a popular mix of up-tempo songs, as well as slower blues-inspired numbers and traditional waltzes. Planet Zydeco has played for enthusiastic audiences at dances and festivals throughout the Northeast.

Wanna get your dance on? Well, come on over to Middlesex for a NOLA-style dance party!

Doors 6pm; Music starts at 7pm
Frog Moon Hollow: 25 PR 2 in Middlesex, just off Shady Rill Rd., about a half mile south of the bandstand

Suggested donation $15 per person, but give what you are able.
All profit goes to the musicians.

BYOB. And bring a munchie to share, if you're able. We'll have some non-alcoholic beverages and some starter munchies available.

All ages welcome. We LOVE dogs, but our little shih tzu does not. Other dogs really freak her out. So we're asking for no dogs, so she can relax and enjoy, as well. If this is a huge obstacle and will prevent you from being able to come and enjoy, message us, and let's see what we can figure out.

Because of the size of the band and the super-danceable nature of the music, this one will be outdoors! Yay! A true summer concert. So please bring folding chairs, blankets, etc. We'll have a handful of chairs, but please bring em if you have em.

If Mother Nature is feeling playful, everything will still happen if the rain is light and there is no lightning. Then we'll set up a pop-up tent on the lawn to provide some cover for the music lovers. If it's torrential downpour or there are lightning strikes, we may have to reschedule. But if we all think sunny thoughts, I think we'll be AOK!
