Join us for a night of education, connection and gentle yoga.

To begin, our pelvic floor specialist, physical therapist, Karen Bumpus, will be teaching an introductory course on what the "pelvic floor" is, how it works, and how to recognize optimal function or possible dysfunction. This workshop will include pelvic-friendly yoga instruction led by physical therapist and yoga instructor, Lucy D'Aponte. All you need to bring is your beautiful selves, a body-curious attitude and comfortable clothes to move in.

Who should attend: pre/post partum women, individuals with pelvic pain or incontinence, physicians, yoga teachers, therapists and people who want to understand their bodies better.

Karen Bumpus, DPT received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Since graduating, she has worked alongside some of the leading pelvic floor therapists in New England as a member of a specialty pelvic and women's health physical therapy practice in the Boston area. She relocated to Burlington in June of 2018. Karen offers a comfortable, safe and respectful atmosphere to discuss the intimate aspects of women's health. Her mission is to empower the women she treats, and to provide them with the tools to reconnect with and heal their bodies.

Lucy D'Aponte, PT is a licensed physical therapist and certified yoga teacher and Phoenix Rising yoga therapist. She received her BS/MS in physical therapy from Long Island University after experiencing life as a dancer in her native NYC. She has been practicing for 20 years and her experience is extensive. She has worked with infants in neonatal intensive care units, patients in home care settings, school based therapy, acute hospitals, subacute rehabilitation, extended geriatric care, and private outpatient care. Her clients continue to be her most valued teachers. Lucy's treatment approach is delivered with admiration for the abilities of the human body, yet with respect for its fragility and impermanence.
