Grow Your Own will host a free workshop on food storage on September 1 in Hardwick at the Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) at 140 Junction Road. Katie Black will lead the hands-on workshop on freezing and canning garden produce. Everyone will go home with a jar of canned goods and a freezer bag of food. There will also be a shared meal at the end of the session. Participants are encouraged to bring ideas and recipes to share. Children are welcome if they are willing to participate. On-site child care can be arranged for younger folk in advance if needed. Call CAE (802) 472-5362 ext 204 to reserve your spot in the workshop by August 29 as space is limited. Grow Your Own's mission is to increase food independence, better health and wellbeing through shared knowledge and experience. It is a project of the Hardwick Area Food Pantry, NEK Kids on the Move, and CAE. For more information, contact Bethany M. Dunbar at CAE: bethany@hardwickagriculture.org
