Thursday, August 16th at 7:00pm in the Peacham Library Community Room:
The final guest speakers of the Peacham Library's annual summer series on the theme of "The Art of Storytelling" will be Jay Craven and Bess O'Brien of Kingdom County Productions. Both are filmmakers, but the films they create are different in both style and substance. Craven focuses on fiction, having created film adaptations of Vermont author Howard Frank Mosher's novels and others, and O'Brien is a documentary filmmaker, focusing on Vermonters and challenging subjects like addiction, domestic abuse, and the foster care system. The two filmmakers will discuss the differences and similarities between the ways they approach storytelling through the medium of film.
This is the FINAL event in the library's summer series, which has welcomed award-winning podcast producers, local authors, and the historical association to speak about a diverse array of subjects associated with storytelling and narrative arch.
As always, these events are free (although donations are accepted and welcomed). Visit the Peacham Library's Facebook Page or www.peachamlibrary.org for more information.
