The Newport Community Justice Center is hosting a training for volunteers interested in serving on one of the reparative boards on Tuesday, February 25 from 9 am to 1 PM. Reparative board members volunteer approximately 6 hours each month meeting with clients who have committed minor offenses. Board members work with the client to develop a contract that serves to make amends to the victim and the community, and to learn ways to avoid re-offending.
