Hogback Presents "Moose in Vermont"

Seeing a moose, our biggest wild mammal in Vermont, can be a thrill.

It's not unusual to come across moose tracks or scat in the Hogback Mountain Conservation Area (HMCA). A lucky few have seen the moose themselves.The moose population had been increasing in our part of the state in the past few decades, but now moose are facing new threats.Scott Darling, Wildlife Management Program Manager for Vermont Fish & Wildlife, will be presenting at talk "Moose in Vermont - Tiny Threats to Our Biggest Mammals" at the Hogback Mountain Conservation Association's annual Summer Meeting.This illustrated slide show is a kid-friendly free event that is open to the public.Come and see Scott's incredible images of moose in our forests, and hear about what is being done to help maintain a healthy moose population.

As in past years, we'll be meeting at Historic Memorial Hall at 14 West Main Street in downtown Wilmington.Doors open at 7:00.
