The Cambridge Planning Commission has been working diligently for over a year to update the Cambridge Town Plan. The current plan, adopted in 2013, is a five-year plan due to be updated this fall.
Why does Cambridge need a Town Plan? One purpose of a Town Plan is to guide municipal government in responding to requests for local input from State regulatory processes. For example, Act 250 permit applications in town are evaluated against the Town Plan. Having a current Town Plan is also a requirement for many State and Federal grants. A well-written Town Plan is both a source of valuable information about the town, and an expression of the town's vision for its future.
The Cambridge Planning Commission has completed a draft of the updated Town Plan which can be found on the town's website here:

The 12 maps referenced in the Town Plan can be found here:

The next step in the process of updating our Town Plan is to gather public input on the draft document prepared by the Planning Commission. There will be a public meeting for this purpose at the Cambridge Town Office on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 7:00 PM. The Cambridge Town Office is at 85 Church Street in Jeffersonville, upstairs over the U.S. Post Office.
The Cambridge Town Plan is for the Town of Cambridge and the Village of Cambridge. The Village of Jeffersonville has a separate municipal plan.
