Please join us at the Flying Pig Bookstore on Sunday at 5pm to celebrate the release of *Rust & Stardust*, the newest novel from Vermont-born author T. Greenwood! *Rust & Stardust *is a gripping, heart-wrenching novel based on the life of Sally Horner, the 11-year-old kidnapping victim whose abduction in 1948 inspired Nabokov's* Lolita*.
The story is beautifully told; Greenwood has a gift for bringing characters to life. It feels a little like reading Eudora Welty or Flannery O'Connor; you step back in time to a fully realized world, filled with ordinary people and regrettable choices. She somehow manages to tell this terrible story with grace, and while she doesn't shelter readers from the truth, she manages to do so without stepping over the line into cheap sensationalism.
