August 11, 2018 - The eastern side of VT-17 will be closed on August 11th from 9am - 11:30am for the App Gap Challenge, an inspiring rollerski race to the top of the App Gap. Come out to Mad River Glen (all spectators should park in the MRG parking lot prior to 9am and access the course on foot) and join some our nation's best cross country skiers, including 2018 Olympic Gold Medalist Jessie Diggins and members of the US Ski Team, for a spectacular exhibition of grit and determination. This year's field will feature racers from all over New England, the Mid-West, Canada, and Italy. Races will begin at 9:25am. Awards, a rollerski demo and a BBQ with festivities at 12 noon, following the races at the Green Mountain Valley School. Spectators can purchase event T-shirts at MRG and GMVS - there will be food available for purchase. You can also meet the fastest cross-country skier in the World @luddeyo - don't miss this autograph opportunity. This event is part of the 2018 NENSA / Bag Balm Rollerski Race Series featuring America's finest skiers, chasing down a cash prize for the overall series winner.
