Brookfield Historical Society Ice Cream Social

Past event
Aug 12, 2018, 2 to 4 PM

Posting for a friend. All are welcome! I was at their Society recently and the Newton House is amazing! And ice cream to boot!

The annual Ice Cream Social will be held at the historic Marvin Newton House on 1133 Ridge Road in Brookfield on August 12th, 2-4 PM. The featured museum exhibits this summer is a display of chairs made by Brookfield craftsmen Ara Howe and Normus Goodale in workshops located in Brookfield in the mid 1800's. Master Gardener, Brigitte Lackey, will be on site to share her knowledge about the Victorian gardens she is bringing to life at the Newton House. A granite garden bench will be dedicated in memory of Jackie Wilder, the Society's curator, 1984-2017. The Bear Mountain Jammers will once again share their music with all, as ice cream and cookies are enjoyed on the grounds.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome. The Marvin Newton House is open every Sunday in August, from 2-4 P.M.
