On Sunday, August 5 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Fletcher Free Library, 235 College Street in Burlington, the Burlington Friends Meeting and the Women's Intl League for Peace and Freedom winvite you to view the film White Light Black Rain. The film features Japanese and American survivors of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Following the film, participants are invited to join a Peace Walk that will start at the top of Church St. (and Pearl near the Unitarian Universalist Church) and walk down to the waterfront near the boathouse. In memory of those who lost their lives in the nuclear devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; chalk 'shadow drawings' will be made on the streets, candle boats will be launched, and peace songs sung. Everyone is welcome.
