On Sunday, August 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and the Peace & Justice Center will be sponsoring Songs for Hope: Hiroshima and Nagasaki Remembrance March starting at the top of Church St. (and Pearl near the Unitarian Universalist Church, Burlington) and walking down to the waterfront near the boathouse. In memory of those who lost their lives in the nuclear devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; chalk 'shadow drawings' will be made on the streets, candle boats will be launched, and peace songs sung. Everyone is welcome. We will be encouraging individuals to learn about the UN Treaty to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons.
