What -- walk around in a water treatment plant for FUN? Yes! Friday, August 3 is Water Quality Day, and Hinesburg's Water Treatment Plant, at 149 Shelburne Falls Road, will be hosting public tours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's free! Snacks will be provided, and Water Quality Day hats given to the first 6 visitors. If you haven't yet seen the scope of the effort -- the huge equipment, the high-tech, the complex challenges, the dedicated people -- that's required to bring you the Best Tasting Drinking Water in the state of Vermont, it's really an eye-opening experience. It's fun and informative for people of all ages. Just come by the plant, or contact Erik Bailey, Director of Utilities & Facilities, at ebailey@hinesburg.org, for more information. Water Quality Day is presented by Green Mountain Water Environment Association -- learn more at www.gmwea.org.
