In a letter written July 24, 1776, Philip Schuyler made the case to George Washington for choosing Mount Independence as the site to defy the British invasion from Canada. Tour leader Stephen Zeoli will use that letter as a basis for for exploring its history and significance to the American Revolution . Zeoli is the president of the Mount Independence Coalition and the author of the book MOUNT INDEPENDENCE: THE ENDURING LEGACY OF A UNIQUE HISTORIC PLACE.
