We Remember
Sunday, August 5, 4-6 p.m.

On August 5th and 6th 1945 the U.S. military dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, two Japanese cities, killing at least 129,000 civilians.
To date, the United States is the only country to use nuclear weapons against human populations, military or civilian.

On Sunday, August 5th from 4-6 at the Fletcher Free Library, we'll view "White Light, Black Rain," a powerful documentary which includes interviews of survivors of those bombing. Discussion and light refreshments. Afterward you are welcome to join others in a silent march from the UU Church to the Lake for a memorial ceremony of lights.
