The sixth annual Brick Church Music Series, held at the Old Brick Church in Williston, is presenting it’s fifth performance of the season on Friday evening, February 14th. Headlining the evening, and a front page story in the February 6th Williston Observer, will be the jazz quartet Eight 02.
Eight 02’s sound has been described as a mix of contemporary jazz with a decidedly fresh fusion flavor. Eight 02 is a collaboration between current members of critically acclaimed Kilimanjaro (Lucas Adler and Chris Peterman) and the founding members of Picture This (Peter Engisch and Jerome Monachino). Legendary jazz musicians JEFF LORBER and JIMMY HASLIP have agreed to work as producers on Eight 02's new material due to release in early 2014.
The Brick Church Music Series focuses on bringing great art and music to the historic Brick Church while working with non-profit organizations to help raise funds for their worthwhile missions. Proceeds from this concert will benefit Audubon Vermont.
The evening’s visual artist is Williston's Janet Roerig who will be exhibiting work influenced by her interest in textiles, photography and graphic design.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for a 7:00 show. Tickets are $10 in advance – on-line or at the Williston town office - or $12 at the door ($8/$10 for children under 12 and seniors).
