In "A Perfect Fit", playwright Lia Romeo tells the story of Nicole, a college sophomore involved in her first lesbian relationship, and of her mother Janet. When this world premiere is repeated at Chandler on Sunday, Ms. Romeo will be here to see it and to respond to audience questions and comments about it.
Nicole's exploration of her sexuality has caused her mother to begin questioning her (Janet's) own marriage and assumptions, including the choices she (Janet) made when she was very young. "A Perfect Fit" asks what it takes to be happy as a woman in the 21st century. Directed by Cher Laston (Williamstown), with a cast of Leah Romano (Norwich), Marissa Mattogno (Williamstown), Rae Merrill (Brookfield), Lindsay Stratton (Hanover, NH), and Andra Kisler (Northfield). This play came to Chandler with the involvement of the author, who came to Chandler in winter to workshop the text with the director and cast.
Immediately after the performance, there will be a talkback for audience members to ask questions of and make comments to the playwright, the director, and the cast. This will be followed by a complimentary reception, to meet and greet cast members, Ms. Laston, and Ms. Romeo.
Sunday July 29, 7:30pm. Tickets will be available at the door, as well as online at www.chandler-arts.org or by calling the Chandler box office (802) 728-6464.
