A great reason to swing by downtown if you need a snack mid-Ramble!
Bake Sale Fundraiser, complete with chair massages, herbal sodas and baked treats!
Saturday, July 28 9-2 pm Outside the First Baptist Church @ 81 St Paul St #1
People Uprooting Prison Society (PUPS) is a small collective of people who came together to resist Governor Scott's proposal to build an 800-bed privately contracted prison in Vermont. We approach our efforts from an abolitionist framework. We don't believe that prison can be reformed, rather prisons must be done away with all together along with institutions like capitalism that uphold prison society. We intend to center the perspectives and needs of incarcerated people, those on parole and probation, and their family members, while seeking ways to be informed by and accountable to those most impacted by the Prison Industrial Complex across communication and social barriers.
This Saturday, we're holding a bake sale in downtown Burlington to raise funds for materials. There will be a wide array of treats and other delights, including gluten-free and vegan options, PLUS chair massages, AND herbal sodas and therapeutic and delicious other concoctions.
We are still accepting donations for baked goods - please be in touch if you'd like to contribute! centralvtprisonersupport@riseup.net
