We have two drop-in Valentine maker activities that we hope you'll join us for this coming week:
Simple Folded Books will take place on Thursday, February 13, for ages 7 through adult (younger with a parent's help). Feel free to drop in between 3:00 and 6:00 PM and learn to make a simple, folded book from a single sheet of paper. You can give your book a special cover or turn it into a Valentine for someone special. It's fun, and each one takes only a few minutes to make. The library will stay open until 6:00 on Thursday evening for this activity!
Try your hand at Stacked Poetry (also called Book Spine Poetry)! Stacked Poetry is what you get when you arrange the titles on the spines of books to create a poem, phrase, or message. With a library full of almost 22,000 titles, the possibilities are endless! Stop in this week, cruise the shelves, and see what you can make. When you have a message you like, stack the books in order, and we'll take a photo of your "poem" and post it on our Facebook page.
We will be doing this all week long during regular hours. A word of caution: this activity can be habit-forming!
No registration is necessary for either event.
