Golfball Drop - Ever wonder what a golfball drop is? Well, this is your chance to see one and buy a chance for the $4,000 grand prize. The Charlotte-Shelburne-Hinesburg (CSH) Rotary Club will hold its third annual golfball drop at the Little League Field next to the Shelburne fire station just after the Shelburne Day festivities at the Shelburne Farmers' Market on August 18th.

What is a golfball drop? First the Rotary Members will be selling tickets. For each $10 ticket sold a numbered ball will be placed in a container. The container will then be hoisted high above a field in which a golf pin has been placed. The balls are then dropped all at once and the ball landing closest to pin will win the holder of the associated ticket $4,000. The second closest wins $500, the third - $250 and the furtherst - $250. Just watching the drop is great spectator fun.

Money raised will be shared among the Fire and Rescue Services of Charlotte, Shelburne and Hinesburg. Tickets will be available from all CSH Rotary Club members. Look for their tent at the Shelburne Farmers' Market beginning tomorrow. Winnings are limited to U.S. residents 18 years old and older.
