Water/Wastewater Allocation Committee Meeting

The recently formed Hinesburg Water/Wastewater Allocation Committee will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, July 24 at 7pm at the Town Office (lower level conference room). The Select Board charged this committee with making recommendations on how to update/improve how the Town allocates municipal water and wastewater treatment to new development. Like all Town committee meetings, this one is open to the public. Agenda:

1. Welcome and introductions
2. Agenda changes
3. Discuss committee purpose and background
- Select Board charge
- Current water and wastewater capacity
- Planned water and wastewater system upgrades
- Development projects under review
4. Review current allocation policy and procedure
5. Discuss areas for information gathering and research
- Allocation systems used by other municipalities (e.g., Williston)
- Prioritizing allocation based on Town Plan goals
- Limiting amount of development over time (e.g., per year, per five years)
- Other ideas
6. Discuss committee process
- Meeting dates - August-December
- Work plan
- Elect a chairperson?
7. Other business and correspondence
