I am hosting a “Room at the Table” café, at my home in Williston (1547 East Hill Rd.), August 23 (Friday) at 5:30 to benefit VPIRG (Vermont Public Interest Research Group) in their efforts to pass legislation at the state level to require GMO (Genetically modified ingredients) labeling on foods. We would be the first state to pass such legislation and this is important work that supports the consumers ability to choose their food wisely. Currently no such labeling is required. A representative from VPIRG will be present to talk about their efforts in the state and where the bill stands at this point, as well as what individuals can do to support this work. This is a “pay as you can” event, meaning that everyone is welcome, and encouraged to be well nourished and pay what they feel is fair and are able to contribute. This will be a local, whole food meal.
Please RSVP if you plan to come, as it helps with food planning. And if you’d like to come help cook or serve/clean up afterward, please let me know. Would love to have you join me!
Blessings and joy, Esther Palmer 878-1588
