Please join us at Turtle Island Children's Center for a free training about "Shaken Baby Syndrome"

This Monday, July 23rd
5:30p.m. -7:15 p.m.
in the "Pinewoods" Room of
Turtle Island Children's Center

This training is open to all members of the Turtle Island community, including families, staff and any other local community members interested in learning more about this important topic.

"Shaken Baby Syndrome" is the term used to describe the group of injuries an infant or small child receives after a violent shaking. Did you know that sadly, this is the most lethal type of child abuse; that 25% of these infants and young children that are shaken die, and 50% will suffer lifelong disabilities, and only 25% will lead normal and healthy lives? Fortunately, this is the most preventable form of child abuse. It is PCAVT's goal to ensure that every Vermonter knows to NEVER, NEVER SHAKE A BABY.

A representative of Prevent Child Abuse Vermont (PCAVT) will be offering this training designed to help parents and teachers identify strategies that might help to save a child's life. The training includes brain jell-o molds, dolls and a powerful video.
