Vermont Master Naturalist Program Comes to Richmond: Program Intro and Sneak Peek at the Evolution of Richmond's Human Landscape

Come on Monday, August 6 from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Richmond Free Library to learn more about Richmond's Vermont Master Naturalist Program. Program Director Alicia Daniel will provide an introduction to the program, which is designed to train a team of naturalists in Richmond's natural and cultural history. This team will be able to act as a "brain trust" for solving ecological issues in town and serving as experts for conservation education in the community. Also on August 6, Jane Dorney will present a sneak peek at the cultural landscape portion of the program. Using historic photos and maps, she will show how Richmond's human landscape has evolved, and the influence of geology and biology on that evolution. For more information or an application form, go to the Vermont Master Naturalist website (https://vermontmasternaturalist.org/), and/or contact Jane Dorney at 802-434-5179 or jane.dorney.vt@gmail.com, or Kate Blofson at katharan@gmail.com.
